State of the Break - October Update (Fulfillment and Shipping Adjustments)

Hello, Backers!

The books are in! Along with the rest of the physical products including the beautiful map. The print quality for everything turned out great, and I'm really happy with it and excited for all of our backers to get it in their hands. 

Fulfillment Adjustments

Supplemental Shipping Charge

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we will need to make a supplemental charge for shipping and fulfillment. A combination of increased rates by domestic courier services (EU/UK) as well as having to change fulfillment partners (US/RoW). As a result, some of the previous rates provided for shipping have increased. This has already been reflected in your Backerkit account if you are included among the affected regions. The below graphic provides the adjusted rates for select regions.

Please note, the charge will be for only the difference between the previous advertised rates and the current domestic shipping rates. You will NOT be charged twice.

With this in mind, we will be charging cards again on Tuesday, November 7th, 2023.

This will not affect our projected fulfillment timeline of beginning distribution this month, October 2023. We are working on getting all of the product to our fulfillment partners who will begin domestic (and international) distribution as soon as they receive the physical goods. 

I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.

Accessing Digital Rewards

Tidebreak and VTT Assets

As mentioned in our previous updates, Digital Rewards have already been fulfilled and sent out through Backerkit. If you're having issues accessing your digital rewards or did not receive an email with the link to access your rewards, please:

• Head to your Backerkit Pledge Manager page (linked here).
• Log in in (using the email address registered with Backerkit).

You should get a page that looks something like this:

Digital Stretch Goals - Solo Rules

Gareth and I are wrapping up work on the first of the digital stretch goals; what we're calling TheSalerno Files, or solo rules for playing In Other Waters: Tidebreak. This will allow for single-player sessions of the game and feature a new storyline centered on one of the newest characters from the In Other Waters universe: Dr. Kenzie To. 

The Salerno Files acts as a prologue and is a perfect method for Wardens to prep before running a full game of Tidebreak. Use it to add depth to the world, get to know some of the NPC's, or even establish your own "GM PC" as another figure for the Crew to meet during Dives or Downtime.

Hello, Backers!

As we're prepping for fulfillment we have two adjustments that we want to make you aware of.

Fulfillment to begin in October

First, we'll be pushing back fulfillment to October. We were recently made aware that some of the physical rewards experienced a shipping delay meaning that I (Lone Archivist) won't be receiving the full inventory until the beginning of next month.

So that will mean a slight delay in the beginning of our fulfillment. But once we have everything on hand, I'll share pictures and get started on sending everything out!

A3 Topographic Exploration Map

Secondly, One of the items included in the Oceanographer's Kit, the Topographic Exploration Map, we were originally hoping to have as a HUGE A2 map. Unfortunately, due to a limitation at the printer, this has been downsized to A3. 

We've tested to make sure this is still compatible with the Pop-Out Tokens and it works great! It will be a beautiful map to display or use at the table along with all of the other physical assets.

State of the Break - August (Regarding Digital Downloads)

Hello, Backers!

I've received some reports of backers having difficulty accessing their digital rewards. We've pushed out another email blast from Backerkit that should send out links to access your digital rewards. 

Please check once more, ensuring checking that the notification email did not go to spam. If you still see no email, you should be able to access the files by: 

• Going to the Tidebreak Backerkit Portal
• Log in your email address (used with either Kickstarter or Backerkit)
• Look at your backed projects and from there access the digital files

Note, if you have already received your files, please note that this is NOT an update though one will be coming in the near future. Please review the file version number (at the end of the filename) if you aren't sure.

If you have any further issues, please let me know through either DMs or in the comments and I'll try to get them addressed as soon as possible.

State of the Break - August (It's Coming!)

Hello, Backers!

The long awaited moment has finally arrived... In Other Waters: Tidebreak is here! Later today, you should receive an email to the address registered to either Kickstarter or Backerkit with instructions on how to access your files.

At a later date, I will also be sending out links to access the files through the book's Itch.io page. This is so that whenever there are updates in the future, Backers will get lifetime access updates to the digital copy and assets (note that this does not include access to all of the stretch goal material; just the core VTT Assets).

I know it's been a long wait and I'd like to thank you all (including my team) for your patience and support in getting this project done. 

What now?

Well the work's not done. We still have to ready for print and finalize the digital stretch goals for this project. While I've been working on physical order prep in the background, there's still some work to be done on the digital stretch goals. On my end at least. I know Gareth has been brainstorming some great ideas already, including some for solo play.

So more information on that will come out shortly in future updates on that front.

What if I notice a typo?

Even after our QA and review, there might still be some minor "tyops" that were overlooked. That's more than likely my fault. I'm always tinkering and editing down to the very last minute. So if there is anything that you've noticed, we've prepared a Google Form for you to fill out.

Please note that messages and comments reporting issues will not be reviewed.

State of the Break - August - 1 Day Delay

Hello, Backers!

I recently became aware of a 48 hour waiting period after sending the Lock Order notice before you can charge cards through Backerkit. As a result this means that there will be a 1 day delay in our previously noted timeframe. Revised window is listed below.

Monday, August 14th, 2023 - Lock Orders 

Wednesday, August 16th, 2023 - Charge Cards

I understand this is a minor delay but I wanted to make sure you were all aware before the date came up. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause but want to try to keep up transparency and make sure our Backers are kept in the loop.

Goal is to have another update regarding rewards and digital distribution before cards are charged so keep an eye on a separate update for that.
